The property here is amazing. Over 150 acres of vineyards and stables. The trail ride is amazing as well. The views over the entire valley and as far as San Francisco. Windy trails and areas where we could gallop with the horse make this one of the best hours you can spend in the region. When finished you can go to the tasting room and enjoy the wine. The staff here is very friendly and let you enjoy your time.
We had a pony walk with our daughter. It was 30 mins walk with outstanding views. Our guide told us a lot about the farm and different horse breeds. After the ride we checked the winery which is great as well.
I've been horseback riding for over 30 years. I've been to many stables. This one definetly stood out from the others. The guides were very friendly. The horses very clean and very well trained. It was my sons first time and he now wants to ride more frequently from having such a great experience and my other son that's ridden with me for the past 14 years was really happy we went there and pointed out the same things I did. Thanks for making my family's day a perfect one. Phoenix was the best horse.
They said we could walk in and had a trail riding. But when we are here they told us they are not available. I think the receptionist was not friendly at all. I will not be here anymore.
We had so much fun! Our first time horseback riding ever. We took advantage of the early bird special at 8:30 morning. It included an extra half hour for the price of an hour. Our guide was great, she was knowledgeable of the property and horses.
Went on the pony ride with my daughter. Had a great time. The views are great and the ride was fun. Didn't have time to check out the winery but that seemed nice too.
Garrod farms stables is such an encouraging place. They have the horses well trained and the trial rides give so much experience to the riders. Garrod farms riding stables is the best place to learn horseback riding.
Its was our anniversary and we have booked a one hour trail ride. Because the trail guides weren't well, Jan Garrod himself took us on the trail. Fabulous views and great well kept horses. If you want a romantic serene getaway close to minutes from home, this is THE place to go. They had a huge arena for lessons too. Then we headed over to the winery for tastings. There one of the cooper daughters was in charge. Hands down the best service in a family run business where they truly know how to make their customers feel part of a family tradition and provide that cozy homey environment. This Cooper-Garrod collaboration will truly run for centuries to come if they keep doing what they are doing!
What a great place to go horseback riding! You get beautiful views of the vineyards, the East Bay and the City. The guide was patient and had a great attitude. Our group had a great time and celebrated a birthday in a very unique way.
We have taken family trail rides as well as lesson programs here and found the people very friendly and helpful. The horses are handled much better here than some other places-the owners and employees care about the safety and well being of riders and animals.
Garrod Farms is home to a very well respected equestrian team that competes world wide and has won gold medals. Top notch horse facility and check out the winery too.
