Trail Rides

Bay Area View Trail Ride
Not ready to spend an hour in the saddle? Never been on a horse before? No Problem! This is the trail ride for you – scenic, easy on the body, heavy on the good vibes. Enjoy breathtaking views of the Bay Area and Santa Cruz Mountains. No experience needed. Just show up and let us handle the rest. 🌿

ADVENTURE TRAIL RIDE
- Adventure Trail Ride
Experienced Riders Only
Our Adventure Trail Ride is a fast-paced, challenging experience designed for confident, capable riders. This ride is not suitable for beginners.
Rider Requirements
- No fear of heights
- Must be able to ride in two-point for an undetermined amount of time
- Recommend for ages 12 and older
- MUST have ridden in the past year
- Comfortable handling a forward, energetic horse
- Confident riding outside the arena on varied terrain
- MUST be able to respect all Guide commands and directions
If you feel you’re not quite ready—or don’t want to hold back the group—we recommend signing up for lessons to build the skills needed for this ride.
Ride Details
- $130 per rider
- Maximum 6 riders
- Ride time varies 1–1½ hour ride, based on rider skill and group ability
- Guides have final say on rider eligibility, horse assignments and pace

Pony Walks
For little riders under 8 years old, we have 20 minute Pony Rides available! Children must be old enough to sit-up with control and comfort (usually at least 2-3 years old). The pony is led by a member of Garrod Farms staff on a short trail ride around our property, while a parent or guardian walks alongside the child. Each child must be accompanied by an adult. Wear good walking shoes!

Wine Rides are offered on the first Sunday of each month in March thru October, and include a trail ride, light brunch, and wine tasting! No wine rides are offered over the winter months.

- 11 AM trail ride.
- Wine tasting with artisan sandwiches and cheese plates after the ride.

- There is a maximum of 14 guests per ride.

Pony Parties
The perfect event for your under-8 year old Birthday
Fee: $500 + tip. Must be pre-paid
What: 3 hour rental of our Day Camp area, which includes parking, picnic tables, and a grassy area for games
1 pony (to be led) for 40 minutes, with a handler and helmets. ( This takes place right in the Day Camp area.)
No streamers, balloons, or loud music. There is no refrigeration.
When: Saturday and Sunday only.

When to Arrive
Plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to your ride start time! This allows time to get your helmet and be assigned a horse to ride.
Late arrivals risk missing the trail ride as we do have to stay on schedule. Those who miss their trail ride will not be refunded.
What to Wear
Horseback riding boots or running shoes and long pants are required to ride. No clogs, sandals, platform shoes, open-toed shoes, or high heels.
We provide helmets for all riders, as they are also required.
Please note: handbags, purses, backpacks, and fanny packs are not allowed on the trail ride as they pose a safety risk; if you must carry a wallet or phone, we recommend putting them in a pocket that can zipper or be securely closed while on your ride! Garrod Farms is not responsible for lost or broken items.
Age / Weight requirements
You must be at least 8 years old to ride a horse.
Anyone under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign their waiver prior to being allowed to ride (see link above).
We have a weight limit of 225 pounds for riders.
Cancellation Policy
For a refund, we must receive the cancellation notice at least 24 hours prior to your reservation start time. There is a $20.00 fee for approved refunds. No refunds are offered for cancellations made within 24 hours of the reservation.
