Western Club

Western Club is an advanced western riding club that is designed for equestrians who are already riding on a regular weekly basis.

  • Monthly Club Membership Fee for members using a Garrod Farms Horse:
    • $135 flat rate per month
    • Includes horse rental (for monthly lessons), friendships, & practice for shows & more!
  • Monthly Club Membership Fee for Garrod Farms boarders & leasers:
    • $115 flat rate per month
    • Includes discounted rate, friends to ride with, practice for shows & more!

Garrod Farms Students:

  • Must be a current student in lessons at least once per week (group or private lessons through Garrod).
  • Must be at least 13 years old.
  • Must be able to memorize and execute a Western Riding Test.

Garrod Farms Staff & Trainees:

  • Must be a current staff member or Level 3 Trainee

Garrod Farms Boarder (or Leaser) with own horse and equipment:

  • Must be a current boarder or a lessee with approval from owner for rider to participate with horse.
  • Must be at least 13 years old.
  • Must be able to memorize and execute a Western Riding Test.

Pony Club

Pony Club for our English riders that would like to work on more skills.

  • Club Rates:

    1. Using Garrod Farms Horse: $518 for 8 lessons

      • Includes the responsibility of grooming and saddling the horse

    2. Garrod Farms Boarders/Leasers: contact saratogaponyclub@gmail.com for USPC pricing and information

Requirements:

  1. Join Saratoga Pony Club – contact saratogaponyclub@gmail.com for information

  2. Riders must be in weekly lessons w/ a Garrod Farms Instructor

  3. Riders must be able to memorize and ride CHA Level 1 Ride Test

“The property here is amazing. Over 150 acres of vineyards and stables. The trail ride is amazing as well. The views over the entire valley and as far as San Francisco. Windy trails and areas where we could gallop with the horse make this one of the best hours you can spend in the region. When finished you can go to the tasting room and enjoy the wine. The staff here is very friendly and let you enjoy your time.”

Family ownership & operation since 1893

Garrod Farms was established in 1893 with the purchase of 65 acres from the Mt. Eden Orchard and Vineyard Company.

Around 129+ years and 5 generations later, it continues to be a family agriculture operation today. Alongside the horse operation, we now have 28 acres of vineyards here on the property. We are also proud to say that we were one of the first wineries in the state of California to become Certified Sustainable in our farming practices.
